Co-Designing Touch for CHORA Haptic Robot

Planned and facilitated 7 co-design workshops across 5 marginalized identity groups (POC, Neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, Student, Foreign-Born) to shape a haptic companion robot. Synthesized 28 canvases into 6 themes used by the SPIN Lab team. Honourable Mention at CHI 2026.

Full-stack UX research: contextual inquiry → lo-fi/hi-fi iterations → structured usability experiment (n=8) → emotional-trajectory mapping. Insights directly shaped the shipped feature set and justified building a social group-mode for accountability.

Urban Biodiversity & Emotion in Jakarta

Designed a stratified mixed-methods study (planned n=200) testing how perceived vs. observed biodiversity shapes emotion regulation across SES groups in Jakarta. Combines validated psychometrics (ERQ, FFMQ), GIS mapping, and environmental sensors — study-design chops under real constraints.

6-participant think-aloud study + semi-structured interviews on a redesigned UBC course-registration flow. Thematic analysis surfaced two major mental-model mismatches (cart vs. worklist, hidden prerequisites filter) with prioritized design recommendations — overall satisfaction 7.92/10.

Water Quality in BC Salmon Creeks

Designed and executed a 6-site field study across Metro Vancouver salmon habitats, measuring 6 water-quality parameters with portable instrumentation. MANOVA (p<0.001) revealed stream-type-specific ammonia and oxygen patterns with implications for salmon survival. Field-research + multivariate chops.
